Willow Cuttings, ‘Green Dicks’

Salix purpurea ‘Green Dicks’ is a reliable basket willow known for producing slender, straight green rods with excellent flexibility. It is especially valued by weavers for its fine diameter and consistent, uniform growth. Under good conditions, plants typically produce 6–9 feet of usable rods in a single season. Stems are smooth, easy to handle fresh or dried, and suitable for both fine and medium-scale basketry projects. With annual coppicing (cutting back to the stool each winter), it responds with strong, even regrowth ideal for harvest.

Willow Cuttings, ‘Polish Purple’

Salix purpurea ‘Polish Purple’ is a refined basketry willow known for its slender, straight rods and distinctive deep purple to burgundy bark. It produces abundant, uniform growth that’s easy to work with—one reason it’s favored by weavers.

This variety is more compact and manageable than many larger willows, typically reaching 6–12 feet depending on how it’s cut. It thrives in full sun and moist, well-drained soil, though it tolerates a range of conditions once established.
