Adaptable to a wide range of soils, Gmelini grows especially well with fertile conditions and can handle brief periods of standing water. This fast-growing willow can reach 10-20 feet as a shrub or small tree, though it’s best coppiced for its striking rods.

Willow cuttings are 9 to 10 inches long and should be inserted into soil 7-8 inches deep. Plant in spring, typically March 15 to May 15. Earlier and later plantings are possible with special consideration to water availability, and location of planting. Shipping available throughout the USA via USPS.
